Dear Mom

Mom, I take my deeply inky pen,

To write just a glimpse of my emotion laden heart,

21 years of age, I'm here with a pen and a paper,

How was it when you experienced the pain of your lifetime and you smiled after that?

The sleepless nights momma when I was all cry, have you recovered that sleep by the way?

And the thousands of stinky diapers you changed me? I wish I knew where to place my piece of shit then:you wouldn't go through that.

But now momma, not only do I know how to place it well but I also know how to collect it perfectly together when life gives me that!

And how many times did you redress my then innocent curiosity?

I'm still innocent Mom, don't be deceived by whatever you saw the other day, I was just curious to know how it feels to have a girl. It was just that!

The pinch scars on my thighs and numerous canes on my back, that wouldn't go without mention they molded me.

Sometimes my heart needed an emotional shoulder to lean on, it would be mean of me to say you provided, that was more than providence. It was pure love.

And mom for this is the best opportunity, I've alot that has troubled my heart and so allow me to seek clarification:

How did you learn that the cries I had-which for me till now they're the same- signalled something and perfectly understood that?

Who told you whenever I had a headache or that stubborn flu the right medicine to give me for I always felt better?

Who told you the food I loved, for I would find that precisely presented in the dining table ready for me?

Who told you science wasn't my cup of coffee and you added that hat of a teacher to your already numerous hats and tuitioned me?

Who told you I felt bad when everyone at school got some urban bites to quench their homesick and you did accordingly with the little you had?

Who told you the little lovely girl next door drove me crazy and distracted my sanity and needed some wise counseling?

How did you learn that I admired that ragged black jeans and white T-shirt you gor for my birthday?

Who told you I needed spiritual nourishment for later life and on Sundays breakfast was served early?

Who told you that the problems I had as a teenager were spiritual and your knee and the ground were constantly in contact?

And lastly dear momma, who whispered to you about my future that the whole society beginning right from my family would all depend on me? So you perfectly crafted me to that charming gentleman the whole society would look up to?

I know along the way I've shattered your dreams for me, but believe me I'm still on the track, perfectly keeping the way you showed me and most importantly having you in mind all through!

And so Mom, whenever your world crumbles, remember the shoulder that you raised will be right there for you,

And the tears that were constantly dripping from you: the story will soon change.

I know I've never said this before; on this special Mother's day,

May a slow wind work these words of love your way,

As an invisible cloak comes to grant your wishes.

And if tomorrow nevers comes, whatever you gave me in your longevity is more than appreciated.

From the deepest embers of my heart,I LOVE YOU MOM❤️

Happy Mother's Day to all mom's all over the world, the moms to be and to all the gents with a motherly heart.
